Whether you are from Toronto, or travelling to Toronto from other cities, staying at a great hotel makes your stay enjoyable! Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel & Suites is the perfect destination and I want to help you plan your next vacation or staycation!

In my post, I will go over the details of my experience with my family at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North and will talk about our room and hotel amenities including the pools…yes, there are more than one. I have also included a video that provides the best overview of the space. And of course, I can’t miss out on talking about where we dined during our stay.

Make sure to bookmark my post, as I will also provide reservation numbers and current pricing info for your reference.

Our Staycation!

We booked Sunday to Monday in July 2021 and the hotel stay was an extension to my older daughter’s birthday celebration. Our family only lives less than thirty minutes away from the hotel, so it really was a true staycation for us.

With our busy work schedules, having quality family time away is precious and much needed!

I have been to the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel many times in the past to use their facilities like the Starbucks lounge area and the spa. The free parking, the prime location, and the welcoming vibe make it an attractive spot. I had no idea until recently that non-hotel guests can book a day pool pass to use at the hotel which is totally awesome.

Our Hotel Room Experience!

Our family of four (my husband and two kids) booked the “Family Movie & Stay Getaway Package” and got the following perks:

  • In-Room Movie & Snack Pack of Popcorn/Candy
  • Complimentary access to Oasis Outdoor Pool + Patio
  • 4 PM Late Checkout for Extended Family Time
  • The hotel also has free parking and free wifi

The concierge at the front desk really helped to set a positive start to our stay. She was enthusiastic, professional, and informative and provided us with details of the hotel’s amenities and hours during our check-in. She even helped us reserve our Oasis Outdoor Pool time.

The room!

Our newly renovated room had two queen-sized beds located on the sixth floor. The beds were super comfy and the room was extremely clean. We still brought disinfectant wipes to go over major surfaces to make us feel comfortable.

The room had a modern feel, a large TV screen, a bench, a single sofa chair, and a round table. I like the details in the room with many electrical outlets including four built into the main table, and hooks by the long-standing mirror. There was also a safe, a fridge, a closet, and an ironing board.

I liked that the bathroom had a large counter space and mirror. The shower area was clean, had good water pressure, and the water heated up quickly (these are important!). Check out my video at the bottom of this post to see the room for yourself.

The late check-out is one of the huge perks for booking this package because our family was able to make use of the room and the pool. I loved the convenience of coming back to the room to shower after using the pools. I don’t get to nap often at home, and we totally fit that in during our stay and it felt gooood.

For our movie night, I like that many of the movies were not released on Netflix yet. We ended up watching ‘Godzilla Vs. Kong’ and our kids enjoyed the generous bag of popcorn and other treats as part of the movie package from the hotel.

When I talked about great attention to detail, the Marketing Manager remembered that we were celebrating my daughter’s birthday and sent us a surprise cake to celebrate. It was thoughtful and oh so delicious!

The Pools!

If you love to swim or simply play in the water like our family, then you are in for a real treat. As a guest at the hotel, you get free access to the pools and there are three of them with a different vibe in each. This is a major perk with staying at the hotel!

Pool 1

The first is an indoor pool with a change room that is on the lower level of The Sheraton Parkway, and only hotel guests with a room key can access it. This pool is unsupervised and based on a first come first serve basis. This pool re-opened recently in accordance with Ontario’s stage 3 reopening plan.

The water is lukewarm and it felt private as there were very few people during our visit. Guests can ask the hotel for towels or you can bring your own. There is also a basket with fresh towels if you forgot to bring one as well!

Pools 2 and 3

The Oasis Outdoor Pool and Oasis indoor pool are part of the Parkway Fitness & Racquet Club.

The pools can be accessed from the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North entrance with about a five-minute walk through the hallways to get there. There is also a separate entrance and parking lot to access to get to the club and pool more quickly.

Members of the fitness and racquet club can pay a membership to use the pool, and the Sheraton Parkway Hotel guests can use the pools complimentary with towel service. Non-hotel guests can also buy day passes for the Oasis Pool.

The prices for the pool day pass are $20 and $10 for children 10 and under Monday-Thursday, $25 and $15 for Children 10 and under for Friday to Sunday. I will provide the number to call to reserve the pool in my post.  If it rains, guests can re-schedule or just enjoy the indoor pools.

At the Oasis Pool, there is an outdoor pool with many tables and lounger chairs. This outdoor area offers a full bar and food menu with poolside service.

Next to the outdoor pool, there is a large indoor pool with a hot tub.

The swimming time for both pools needs to be reserved in advance with 30-minute intervals. Guests can however stay as long as they want on the lounge chairs and seats and grab a bite or drink.

The outdoor pool has a happening vibe with many sunbathers and families. Our family prefers a much more private space and used the indoor pool mainly. It was huge, clean and we loved being there!

I would recommend bringing a life jacket for your young kids as the indoor pool gets pretty deep and is not supervised. Remember to bring your towels if you are a non-hotel guest.

Where to eat at Sheraton Parkway

I had the chance to enjoy a weekend brunch with my mom at the Patio Bar + Grill at the Sheraton Parkway the week before our family staycation. The restaurant opened in June as part of Ontario’s stage 1 re-opening and the patio is located at the front of the hotel by the parking lot. Drop-ins are welcomed but it is best to make reservations to ensure there are tables available.

It happened to rain during our visit, so we opted to dine indoors. It has a classy European vibe with tall ceilings, open windows to oversee the patio, a backdrop of beautiful photos, and comfy chairs at each table.  I was impressed how the hotel was able to transform the hallways to become a restaurant.

My mom and I enjoyed the classic steak and eggs with home fries (over-easy eggs and medium rare for me!), shakshuka, a plate of fruit, mimosas, and Starbucks coffee. Any coffee beverages you order from the brunch menu comes from Starbucks. It was the perfect mom and daughter bonding date with delicious food.

The hotel has other options for dining including:

  • Oasis Outdoor Pool + Patio with poolside food and drink service www.parkwaytakeout.com/oasis-patio. The menu is the same as the Patio Bar + Grill with different drink options like Pina Colada and boozy sno-cones!

Where to eat close to the hotel

The Sheraton Parkway Toronto North is in a prime location, with so many incredible restaurants close by. If you are craving Chinese food, you are in luck as some of the best restaurants in the city are located in Richmond Hill.

During our stay, we ate at the following:

  • Starbucks from Sheraton Parkway with Chinese buns that we brought from home for breakfast. I liked that the Starbucks was conveniently located on the main floor of the hotel lobby. There are many bakeries close by, and even a Tim Hortons walking distance to the hotel.
  • Konjiki Ramen (115 Times Avenue, Markham, ON). They are my favourite ramen restaurant in Toronto for their clam-based broths!
  • Yu Seafood for dim sum (270 West Beaver Creek Rd, Richmond Hill, ON). They are one of my favourite dim sum restaurants in Toronto and I haven’t dined in for soooo long, so my family and I had to go.

Overall experience:

I recommend staying at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North and it makes an incredible staycation for the family. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are pleasant. The movie night package in particular is perfect for family fun while making use of the late check out.

Also, the value for what you get makes the stay worthwhile especially because of the location and access to the pools. With prices as low as $120/night, it is a great deal that includes access to the MANY pools.

Our movie night package for our family of four was $164/night which is reasonable. The late checkout until 4 pm is a $75 value and parking is free. The location is also convenient and close to many attractions in Toronto and the GTA. If you did not want to step outside the hotel, there are many food options at the hotel. So whether you are doing a staycation like me, or coming from afar, I would recommend a stay here.
