Address: 169 Enterprise Boulevard, Markham, ON
When I attended: June 26th, 2015
If you live in Toronto and do not know about Chatime by now, where have you been? They have 11 stores in Ontario with more locations in the works with a strong customer following. Worldwide, Chatime is one of the largest and farthest tea chain brand with over 1000 locations worldwide in 26 countries. I even had the amazing tea when I was in the Philippines.
For me, Chatime stands out from the competition. For the bubbleteas, I enjoy the smooth consistency of the tea (not the grainy powdered taste from some of the tea shops) and their specialty flavours including roasted milk tea, matcha red bean milk tea and lychee green tea. Their bubbletea is pricier than many of their competition (my average spend is about $5 per visit) but the taste and quality had surpassed many bubbleteas I have tried before.
On June 26th, 2015, Chatime unveiled their flagship store at the downtown Markham complex, inside the Cineplex Odeon theatre building. The 167 square foot space is bright with high ceilings and has a modern design. There was still lots of construction outside the building during the launch, but there was plenty of parking available.
With the partners present at the event, they provided background on the store and what we would sample. I was able to taste some Chatime favourites and best sellers, as well as new offerings.
Media guests and I sampled the following:
Out of the samples, my favourite was the grass jelly roasted milk tea, which is also one of the best sellers in Ontario. I also absolutely loved the strawberry pudding au lait which is a smoothie with a egg-free custard at the bottom.
Chatime launched a line of Teair teas at their flagship store, which is a sparkling tea beverage where the carbonation level can be customized (single fizz or double fizz) and customers can choose 11 unique flavours including pineapple and grapefruit. The Teair teas is refreshing and a great summer option.
Chatime also launched a coconut taro smoothie, which is only available in Canada and it was incredible! I love taro and coconut, so the combination worked really well. This may become my new favourite!
Thank you for Chatime for the invitation.
